In terms of regulation 5(4) of the Control of Concentrations Regulations, 2002 published in Legal Notice 294 of 2002, the Director General of the Office for Competition notifies for general information that a notification of a concentration between Meat Acquico Germany II GmbH (Bonn, Germany) and VION Food Service Holding GmbH (Nordring, Großostheim) was filed on Thursday, 25 June 2026.
The nature of the concentration is the acquisition of VION Food Service Holding GmbH by Meat Acquico Germany II GmbH.
Meat Acquico Germany II GmbH is a holding company and member of the Group of Butchers group, which is primarily focused on the retail distribution channel. Its product range includes private label meats, smoked and bbq sausages, soups, meals, and salads, spreads and dips for the retail and out-of-home markets.
VION Food Service Holding GmbH and its direct and indirect subsidiaries operate the group’s food service business (trading as “Salomon FoodWorld”) comprising of the design, production and supply of frozen meat and veggie/vegan food products to the out-of-home food service sector.
The Director General of the Office for Competition invites interested third parties to submit their written objections on this notified concentration within seven days following publication of this notice at the following address:
