The MCCAA would like to inform the public about a voluntary recall of a portable blender branded ‘BlendJet 2’ with a compact battery which has been found to pose a risk to consumers.  The recalled blenders can overheat or catch fire, and the blender blades can break off, posing fire and laceration hazards to consumers.

Units involved in the recall:

• The affected units were sold from October 2020 through November 2023. Not all units sold during this period are defective.
• The affected Units are among the following serial numbers: 5201000000 through and including 5542999999.

From the information provided to this office, Maltese consumers have purchased such blenders solely through online platforms and each buyer will be contacted by the company as soon as possible to determine whether any of the purchased blenders have been affected by such recall. If confirmed, the blender base and lid will be replaced at no cost.
