The MCCAA would like to inform the public about a preventive campaign of voluntary corrective maintenance or withdrawal, as applicable, of a specific number of TESY electric water heaters. The identified units are no longer being sold. Consumers are hereby advised to check any TESY electric water heaters before installing and using them via the Safety Recall Identifier Process accessible from the following link: https://tesy.com/product-safety.

TESY has identified a construction imperfection regarding a part used specifically with electric water heaters - reduced clearance of basic insulation in a known number of electric water heaters. There is a risk of possible electric shock, if the requirements described in the installation manual are not fulfilled.  The involved models have a capacity from 50 l to 150 l and are manufactured in the third quarter of 2023, specifically from 01.06.2023 to 30.09.2023.

Additionally, it is advisable that TESY electric water heaters purchased in the period of June - September 2023 are checked, by following the above-described Safety Recall Identifier Process.  

In view of the identified risk, TESY is carrying out this voluntary withdrawal campaign in order to avoid the risk of electric shock which is possible in case the user did not fulfil the requirements described in the instructions for use and maintenance.  TESY has developed a technical maintenance solution consisting of a component replacement, aimed at preventing health and property hazards. Alternatively, TESY is offering affected consumers an appliance exchange, reimbursement or any other alternative solution to be chosen by the concerned consumer.
