NOTIFICATION by the Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority, Technical Regulations Division obo the FOOD SAFETY COMMISSION regarding ‘Chewable Hair Vitamins’ ® manufactured by HAIRBURST, UK

In line with Article 8 of the Food Safety Act, on the instructions of the Food Safety Commission, the Director General of the Technical Regulations Division (TRD) of the Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority (MCCAA) is notifying the public with regard to a possible risk to health associated with the following product:

‘Chewable Hair Vitamins’ ® manufactured by HAIRBURST, UK

As a precautionary measure the product with the Best Before End: May 2020 and specifically, lot no. BN EJ 0902M38 should not be consumed.

 The root cause(s) of the severe acute hepatitis has not been determined as of present by the French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety (ANSES). The notification was processed through the European Food Safety Authority Focal Point network on 21^st April 2020 and the MCCAA_TRD may give further notice in the near future.
