{"id":6072,"date":"2026-05-15T13:21:01","date_gmt":"2026-05-15T11:21:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mccaa.org.mt\/technical-regulation\/certification-and-marking-of-wire-ropes-chains-and-hooks\/"},"modified":"2026-07-29T16:41:32","modified_gmt":"2026-07-29T14:41:32","slug":"certification-and-marking-of-wire-ropes-chains-and-hooks","status":"publish","type":"technical-regulation","link":"https:\/\/mccaa.org.mt\/mt\/technical-regulation\/certification-and-marking-of-wire-ropes-chains-and-hooks\/","title":{"rendered":"Certification and Marking of wire ropes, chains and hooks"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wire Ropes, Chains and Hooks are regulated by the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/legislation.mt\/eli\/sl\/427.22\/eng\/pdf\">Certification and Markings of Wire Ropes, Chains and Hooks Regulation S.L. 427.22<\/a> which transposes the provisions of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/EN\/TXT\/PDF\/?uri=CELEX:31973L0361&amp;from=EN\">Council Directive 73\/361\/EEC.<\/a> The legal framework established by these regulations is confined to provisions on the certification and markings of wire-ropes, chains and hooks; whereas certification and markings will enable manufacturers and users of lifting appliances to know inter alia the characteristics of these wire-ropes, chains and hooks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Products covered<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By lifting equipment, within the meaning of this Regulation, is understood wire ropes, round steel chains, and hooks intended for lifting and mechanical handling equipment;
