The MCCAA would like to inform the public about the dangers of the USB charger ‘Super Fast Charger / Travel Adopter (25W PD Adopter USB-C)’ with model number EP-TA800 (unbranded)*. The USB charger failed multiple tests and even caught fire during standard tests.

This USB charger is being recalled as it does not comply with the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive and applicable European standards and poses a serious risk to consumers.

As a result, the MCCAA has taken the appropriate procedures to ensure that this product is removed from the local market. Consumers who had bought this product should refrain from using it and, where possible, return it to the retailer from where they bought it. Retailers are obliged to redress consumers, which remedy can take the form of replacement of the recalled product with a safe one.
