The MCCAA and the Institute for Standardisation of the Republic of North Macedonia (ISRSM) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the purpose of enhanced cooperation between the two organisations.
Through this MoU both entities will be supporting each other in the sharing of best practices and information, whilst also engaging in discussion with the objective of improving quality of life in society.
Both parties aim to create favourable conditions for the cooperation in sectors of mutual interest, including employee exchange programmes and experts’ training. Focus areas include standardisation work related to renewable energy, environmental, air and water quality, food and beverage industry, playgrounds safety, consumer policy, services sector and much more.
This MoU will provide a formal framework for cooperation between the two parties, including a commitment to hold high-level meetings with a view to further identify areas and activities of common interest.
In her remarks, Minister for Inclusion, Voluntary Organisations and Consumer Rights Julia Farrugia Portelli highlighted the importance of facilitating the cooperation between Malta and the Republic of North Macedonia in areas that are crucial in improving quality of life through standardisation.
The memorandum of understanding was signed by Inġ. Helga Pizzuto, Chairperson of the MCCAA, and M.Sc. Dzevat Kicara, Director of ISRSM, in the presence of Permanent Secretary Nancy Caruana and Inġ. Francis Farrugia, Director General for the Standards and Metrology Institute within the MCCAA.
