In Malta, the Technical Regulations Division within the MCCAA is the Product Contact Point (PCP) established under the Mutual Recognition Regulation. You may also find a list of other national Product Contact Points in this link.
One of the main roles of the PCP is to facilitate communication between national authorities and economic operators by disseminating information about specific national product rules. You can read more about the role of the PCP in Article 9 of the Mutual Recognition Regulation, which lists all the tasks of PCP given by the European Commission.
Malta’s Product Contact Point can:
Assist economic operators with any queries regarding the principle of Mutual Recognition and national regulations applicable to specific product at national level
Answer requests for additional information on national rules concerning goods falling within scope of the Mutual Recognition Regulation
Provide contact details of the competent authorities responsible for these national rules.
