Testing of Pesticides Application Equipment

 

The Laboratory Services Directorate within the Standards and Metrology Institute of MCCAA offers testing facilities  for pesticide application equipment to Professional Users of Plant Protection Products according to the requirements of Legal Notice 489 of 2011 on the Sustainable Use of Pesticides Regulations (under the Pesticides Control Act).

 

How to get your equipment tested and certified 

  1. Download and fill in application form.
  2. Submit the application form and send it with the due payment to address below.
  3. The MCCAA will acknowledge the receipt of the application form and payment to applicant.
  4. The MCCAA will contact the applicant to set an appointment to test the equipment. Clear instructions on how, where and when to bring the equipment to the testing facilities will be given.
  5. On the agreed date and time, the applicant shall bring the equipment for testing. The equipment brought for testing must be in good, clean and safe working conditions for testing.  If not, the equipment will be rejected for testing.
  6. Inspection follows a prescribed procedure to cover all aspects described in Schedule II of S.L. 430.08 of the Sustainable Use of Pesticides Regulations (under the Pesticides Control Act).
  7. At the end of the testing, a pass or fail report/certificate is issued to the applicant and a unique sticker is affixed to the equipment that has passed the testing requirements.
  8. Equipment that failed testing would require a new application against another fee for re-testing.

 

Testing fees 

A payment fee of €15.00 (VAT included) per equipment has to be submitted with each application form.
