The MCCAA, the General Workers’ Union (GWU), and the Union Ħaddiema Magħqudin - Voice of the Workers (UĦM) signed a new collective agreement for MCCAA employees.
This four-year collective agreement builds on the previous agreement and the employees will benefit from several improvements including salary increases which reflect the current market salary-trends. Opportunities for career progression as well as improvements in family-friendly measures and more flexibility in the working hours have been upgraded, aimed towards both the physical and mental well-being of the employees.
Salary packages are aimed at rewarding those employees who have been working hard with this entity and will also enable the Authority to attract new employees to continue improving in the efficiency of its services to the public.
The changes brought about in the new MCCAA Collective Agreement are a result of fruitful discussions between the working parties involved so that the Authority will continue with its strategy to develop further its services and at the same time ameliorating the working conditions for its employees.
MCCAA Chairperson Ing. Helga Pizzuto thanked all parties concerned for working tirelessly towards the settlement of this agreement.
Parliamentary Secretary for Consumer Protection and Valletta 2018 Deo Debattista emphasised that signing this agreement shows the Government’s commitment to strengthen the workers’ conditions, given they are key to deliver on the Authority’s vision.
